Located along the Wenatchee River and within walking distance of downtown Leavenworth, Waterfront Park is the perfect place to take a relaxing stroll and admire mother nature’s artistry on display. Fall is the perfect time to explore the wooded trails, which offer up to three miles of easy hiking. Only a few blocks from Front Street, Waterfront Park is easily accessible from downtown.
Lake Wenatchee State Park
Lake Wenatchee is one of the best places to see fall foliage in the entire state of Washington, offering nearly 500 acres of forest, beaches, and waterfront views. During the peak of fall season, the trees surrounding the lake reflect their brilliant colors on the glassy surface of the lake creating a truly breathtaking site. The park is easily accessible, and offers plenty of parking and facilities, making this a great option for families.
Located just west of Leavenworth, Highway 2 travels through Tumwater Canyon as it twists and turns its way through the majestic Cascade Mountains. The canyon begins where Highway 2 passes over the Wenatchee River, and continues for about 9 miles until the narrow, steep-walled canyon opens up to the picturesque town of Leavenworth. Fall is an especially beautiful time to view the canyon. Make sure to slow down so you can take in the color show, and there are many pull-offs along the route that offer fantastic views of the river below.
