Leavenworth is home to one of the oldest and most pristine golf courses in the PNW. Conveniently located within a mile of the downtown area, Leavenworth Golf Club is a must for avid golfers, boasting sublime mountain and river views, and an abundance of wildlife. Leavenworth Valley Wine Country is earning recognition and accolades for producing depth and complexity not usually found in such young wine regions. Luckily for you, many tasting rooms are conveniently located downtown. Head to Front Street and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of strolling and sipping. Cheers!
Get Outdoors
Whether you prefer to hit the trails or rapids, bird watch or visit a reindeer farm, Leavenworth offers endless outdoor pursuits.
Waterfront Park provides a tranquil haven just steps away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Enjoy an early morning or late afternoon stroll along one of the park’s many trails that wind gently around the Wenatchee River. To access the trailhead from downtown, head to Commercial Street, make your way down a mild hill, and cross over a picturesque bridge.
Looking for more of a challenge?
Icicle Gorge Nature Loop is a great 4.2- mile loop near Leavenworth. While it’s still a good workout with an increase of 150 feet elevation, it’s much easier than some of the other mountain hikes. You’ll enjoy stunning river views, and many bird watchers also frequent this area. Leashed dogs are allowed.
May through September is prime river rafting season. Book a guided excursion with a local outfitter and have a splash-tastic time out on the rapids. The knowledgeable and experienced crews at Osprey Rafting Company, Orion River Rafting, or Blue Sky Outfitters will make sure you have a safe and memorable experience.
Visit the Reindeer Farm
Just one mile outside of town you can visit a reindeer farm. Guests will have an opportunity to hand-feed, interact with, and marvel at this protected species.
