Stroll Along the Waterfront Park Trail 

Start the morning with a peaceful walk or bike ride around the Wenatchee River. The river is very close to downtown and is easily accessed from Commercial Street. Throughout the park there are several small beach inlets, perfect for a dip on hot summer days.  

Visit a Reindeer Farm

Just 1 mile outside of town, you can find the Leavenworth Reindeer Farm. This family-owned farm offers hands-on, educational tours that the whole family will enjoy. Make sure to stop by the gift shop where you can pick up an ornament or a souvenir to remember this unique and special experience. Advanced reservations are required. 

Float Down Wenatchee River

Take the family on a float trip down the Wenatchee River and enjoy the swimming holes along the way.

Hit the Icicle Gorge Trail 

Icicle Gorge Trail is a popular, 4.2-mile round trip loop with a 150 feet elevation, suitable for all levels. Enjoy beautiful river views as you wind through the scenic Icicle Valley. Mid-way through the hike you will come to a bridge crossing over the roaring waters. Take a moment to breathe in the fresh, crisp air, and snap a family picture! 

Spend the Day at the Lake 

Take a short road trip (54 miles) to Lake Chelan, one of Washington’s best kept secrets. Lake Chelan’s crystal blue water, and miles of white sandy beaches offers something for everyone – swimming, snorkeling, waterskiing, and tubing, fishing, boating, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. You can rent water sports equipment from the friendly and knowledgeable crew at Lakerider Sports. 

Make a Sweet Pit Stop 

Nothing says vacation like sweets, and luckily for you, Leavenworth has several shops to choose from. 

If you are in the mood for ice cream, head to Whistlepunk Ice Cream for a scoop or two. Choose from their “True Blue” flavors, or their delicious seasonal selections.  

Offering a broad selection of candies from the 40’s and 50’s, and over 50 flavors of taffy, kids of all ages will enjoy a stop at The Taffy Shop.  

Check Out the Gingerbread Factory
